Cookie Policy
Effective date: July 29, 2026 · Last updated: August 15, 2026
Most cookie policies are long because most companies track you. Ours is short, because mostly we don’t — and where we do measure anything, we ask you first.
JustBook runs no advertising trackers, no social-media pixels, no fingerprinting, and no third-party analytics — not on this website, not in the JustBook app, not on our customers’ booking pages, and not on our docs site. We don’t use Google Analytics or any equivalent, and nothing here is ever sold or shared.
We do count visits to our own pages — this website, our docs, and our signup page — so we know which of them people find useful. That measurement is built and hosted by us, and it is cookieless: it stores nothing whatsoever in your browser, which is why you were never asked about it. There is no identifier to store, because we don’t create one — see “Our own pages” below.
Two things do get stored in your browser, both first-party:
- Local storage that’s strictly necessary — it keeps you signed in and keeps your work from disappearing when you refresh the page. No consent is needed for this, and it’s listed in full below.
- Optional visit statistics on booking pages — some businesses use JustBook’s built-in statistics to see how their booking page performs. This runs only if you accept the banner that business shows you. Decline and nothing is measured; the page works exactly the same either way.
What our sites store in your browser
Everything below is first-party, and — with one exception — strictly necessary for the feature it powers. The exception is the visit-statistics ID on a booking page, which exists only after you accept the banner (see “Visit statistics” below). Nothing here is used for advertising.
Marketing site (justbookapp.com)
Nothing. No cookies, no local storage, no trackers.
Booking pages and client portal (yourbusiness.justbookapp.com)
| What’s stored | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your in-progress booking (services, time, the details you type) | So a page refresh doesn’t lose your booking | Until the booking completes or you clear it |
| Your booking confirmation | So the confirmation survives a refresh or the return from payment | Until replaced or cleared |
| Client sign-in session | Keeps you signed in to “My bookings” after phone verification | Token expires after 24 hours |
| Your verified phone number | So you don’t have to re-verify mid-flow | Until sign-out or cleared |
| Selected location | Remembers which location you chose | Until changed or cleared |
| Your analytics choice (accept or decline) | So we remember your answer and don’t keep asking | Until cleared or you change it via “Cookie preferences” |
| A random visit-statistics ID — only if you accepted | Lets the business see anonymous-by-default page and booking-step statistics; see “Visit statistics” below | Until you withdraw or clear storage |
Admin portal (signing in to run your business)
| What’s stored | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session token | Keeps you signed in | Token expires after 24 hours |
| Signup progress token | Lets you resume a signup you started | Until signup completes |
| Interface preferences (last-open tab, saved report filters, draft form state, cached icon) | Quality of life — the app remembers where you were | Until cleared |
Docs site (docs.justbookapp.com)
| What’s stored | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Light/dark theme choice | Remembers your display preference | Until cleared |
Visit statistics on booking pages (optional, opt-in)
Businesses on eligible plans can turn on JustBook’s built-in visit statistics so they can see how their booking page performs — how many people visit, and where in the booking steps they stop.
- It only runs if you accept. The booking page shows a banner with equally easy Accept and Decline choices. Until you accept, nothing is stored and nothing is measured.
- What’s recorded if you accept: the pages and booking steps you view on that business’s site, when, the site that referred you, and your device type (phone or computer) — tied to a random ID, not your name.
- If you sign in or book with that business, your visits may be connected to your client profile with them — so they can see, for example, which of their clients looked at the page but didn’t book. This never crosses businesses and is never used by JustBook for its own purposes.
- Whose data it is: the business you’re visiting is the controller of these statistics; JustBook processes them on its behalf, exactly as with the rest of your data with that business (see the Privacy Policy, Section 1). Your choice applies to that business only — each booking page asks separately.
- Changing your mind is one tap: the “Cookie preferences” link in the booking page footer lets you withdraw at any time; measurement stops immediately.
- Retention: detailed visit records are kept for 180 days, then deleted; only aggregate daily counts (no individual visit trail) are kept beyond that. Your consent choice itself is recorded with a timestamp and the policy version you saw, so the business can prove it asked.
- First-party only: this is JustBook’s own software on JustBook’s own servers. No third-party analytics service is involved, and nothing is shared with or sold to anyone.
Our own pages (this site, our docs, and signup)
Separate from the booking-page statistics above, and much simpler: we count visits to JustBook’s own pages so we can tell which pages help and which channels bring people here.
- Nothing is stored in your browser. No cookie, no localStorage, no identifier of any kind. That is why there is no banner asking about it: there is nothing stored on your device to ask about.
- We never store your IP address. To tell one visit from another we combine your IP address and browser type into a one-way hash, using a secret that changes every day. We keep only the hash. It cannot be turned back into your IP, and because the secret changes daily, today’s hash cannot be matched to yesterday’s — so this cannot build up a picture of you over time, by design.
- What we record: the page you viewed, the site that referred you (its domain only, never the full address), any campaign tag in the link you clicked, your device type, your country, and how quickly the page loaded.
- What we never record: your name, your email, your IP address, anything you type, or anything at all about which other websites you visit.
- First-party only: our software, our servers, our database. No analytics company is involved, and this data is never sold or shared.
- Do Not Track is respected — if your browser sends it, we count nothing.
Third parties
- Stripe (payments). When you pay — a deposit, a package, a JustBook subscription — you’re taken to Stripe’s own secure checkout page on stripe.com. Stripe sets cookies on its own domain for security and fraud prevention, under Stripe’s privacy policy. We don’t embed Stripe’s scripts on our pages, so nothing from Stripe runs on ours.
- Google Fonts. Booking pages load their display font from Google Fonts. This is a plain file request — your browser sends its IP address and browser details to Google, but Google Fonts sets no cookies. (This website and our docs site self-host their fonts, so no request to Google happens there at all.)
That’s the entire list.
Do you need my consent?
Under laws like the EU’s ePrivacy rules, consent is required for storage that isn’t strictly necessary — which is why you see cookie banners everywhere. Almost everything JustBook stores is strictly necessary for a feature you’re actively using (staying signed in, finishing a booking, keeping a preference you chose), so no banner appears for any of that.
The one exception is the optional visit statistics described above: they aren’t strictly necessary, so we ask first. You’ll only ever see that banner on the booking page of a business that has turned statistics on, declining is exactly as easy as accepting, and your answer is remembered so you aren’t asked again.
Managing storage
You can clear local storage any time through your browser’s settings (usually under “Clear browsing data” — it’s grouped with cookies). Doing so signs you out and forgets your preferences; nothing breaks beyond that. We run no advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind, and visit statistics never run without your opt-in — so browser signals like “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control are effectively honored by default: nothing tracks you unless you’ve said yes, and you can take that back at any time.
Changes and contact
If our storage practices change, we’ll update this page (and the Privacy Policy) before the change takes effect.
